DIABETIC COUNSELING SERVICE

Our diabetic counseling provides comprehensive education and counseling to patients and their families. Objective of this service is to improve control of disease, prevent complications and maintain a more stable and healthy life for patients. Sessions are available for all patients with Diabetes Mellitus Type 1 or Type 2 as well as gestational diabetes (diabetes during pregnancy).
WHAT DO WE DO IN DIABETIC COUNSELING?

    * We educate our patient and their family members on diabetes mellitus and its complications.
    * We educate patient on self-monitoring at home.
    * We provide leaflets and flipcharts for patients's reference.
    * We educate patient on insulin inhection.
    * We do follow-up with our patients on their progress.
    * We summarize patient's glucose reading into graph for better visual and comparison.

REFERRAL CAN BE DONE THROUGH:

    * Physician
    * Self referral

DIABETES COUNSELING SERVICE INCLUDES:

    * Introduction on diabetes
    * Body Mass Index counting
    * Carbohydrate / Calorie counting
    * Types of exercises
    * Teaching on self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG)
    * Insulin injection or Oral Hypoglycemic Agents (OHA)
    * Diabetes Foot Care
    * Information on diabetes complications e.g: Sexual Dysfunction

FOR PREGNANT MOTHERS WITH GESTATIONAL DIABETES

We are providing loan glucometer throughtout your pregnant to enable pregnant mother to monitor bllod glucose level at home.
